Coronation Street’s Steve left grinning from ear to ear in spoiler video – as he gets a big surprise

After weeks of dating woes, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) seems to have met the perfect woman as a new Coronation Street spoiler video reveals.

In even better news, she isn’t a fan of former Weathy County player Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn!)

Viewers of the ITV soap will remember that Steve’s footballing hero engaged in a steamy affair with his wife Tracy (Kate Ford) when the couple employed him to renovate their bedroom in his new job as a painter and decorator.

However, it wasn’t long before Tommy was dipping his paint brush in her pot…

Steve was left devastated when best pal Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) revealed the fling to him.

When Tracy left with her new beau for pastures new in Spain, he was keen to get back on the dating scene.

After trying his luck at Glenda Shuttleworth’s Rovers speed dating night and a cocktail evening at the Chariot Square Hotel, Steve was left disappointed when only his pensioner father-in-law Ken Barlow (William Roache) managed to woo a lady.

However, everything seems to be improving as after a string of mismatched swipes, a new woman is about to enter his life.

At the pub, he sits down for a pint with Demi (Lisa Shingler) and is impressed that she’s reading the sports section of the Weatherfield Gazette.

The two start chatting about their love of football, and Steve is taken aback when she reveals she’s been a season ticket holder for over thirty years, and her mum used to work at the team’s ground, the King’s Robes Arena.

Quickly bonding over their interest in the sport, Steve is taken aback when she reveals her mum’s least favourite player to work alongside was none other than Tommy O!
