Coronation Street's Stu Carpenter to be attacked in Roy Cropper storyline

Stu Carpenter will be attacked on Coronation Street as Roy Cropper continues in his attempts to prove his innocence.

Roy has become the prime suspect in the disappearance – and presumed murder – of Lauren Bolton, with the café owner being subjected to a torrent of verbal and physical abuse in recent weeks.

Stu had gradually come to empathise with Roy following his own experience of being wrongfully accused of murder, and next week’s scenes will see the chef attempt to prove Roy’s innocence as he takes matters into his own hands.

Stu begins by reading through some of the hateful comments that have been sent Roy’s way, eventually telling Yasmeen and Alya that he intends to help Roy through the ordeal.

He begins by speaking to a homeless man regarding Lauren’s whereabouts, but is ambushed as the figure hits him with a brick.

Stu later returns to Yasmeen with a bloodied face and reveals that his wallet has been stolen, leaving Roy to feel guilty about the toll that the situation is taking on his closest friends…

Stu isn’t the only figure who will get into a spot of bother regarding Roy, with Sam Blakeman being instructed by his father, Nick, to stay away from Roy until the situation has cleared.
