Corrie fans ‘work out’ resident’s death in horror hostage twist – and it’s not Rob
Coronation Street is set to leave fans on the edge of their seats with a dramatic twist – a shock death on the cobbles, and it seems villain Rob Donovan isn’t the one biting the dust.
Murderous Rob (acted by Marc Baylis), who last graced our screens eight years ago, returned with a bang, remembered for his infamous crime—offing Tina McIntyre (played by bombshell Michelle Keegan) back in 2014.
Locked up for his sins, Rob has had a divine transformation and now claims he’s willing to save his sister Carla Connor (Alison King) by giving her one of his kidneys. But there’s a sneaky plot boiling beneath his saintly offer.
In Monday’s episode (February 10), eagle-eyed DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) sniffed out that Rob hasn’t been singing hymns all day; instead, he’s having a fling with a prison guard named Mandy (Rebecca Atkinson), cooking up a scheme to bust out while he’s at the hospital to donate his kidney.

ITV ramps up the tension in next week’s teaser, showing desperate Rob won’t shy away from roughing up anyone who gets in the way of his escape—even if it means violence. Dressed in stolen security garb and with Carla unwittingly in tow, Rob makes a run for it, landing viewers in a high-octane chase.
ITV has hinted: “With both Carla and Rob recovering from the kidney donation operation the stakes are high as Rob attacks a male security guard and steals his uniform, before taking Carla with him as he flees the hospital.”
The network also stirs the pot, teasing the dilemma faced by Lisa: “Lisa is hot on their heels, but has she underestimated just how far Rob will go? Is he prepared to kill again or will he pay the ultimate price for his audacious plan? ” The cobbles haven’t seen this much action since Gail Platt’s many marriages went pear-shaped, so make sure you’re slumped on your sofa, Corrie fans, because this is not one to miss!, reports Plymouth Live.

Fans of Coronation Street were left gobsmacked by a recent revelation from The Sun, as an insider spilled the beans that Rob’s dire hostage situation escalates to a shooting, climaxing in a chilling death. The source dished out the drama, saying: “Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as the gripping hostage ordeal followed by a cold-blooded murder unfolds. No one is safe from the peril and havoc Rob is set to unleash.”
The speculation doesn’t stop there; Corrie enthusiasts are wracked with theories, with many fearing for the life of none other than Rob’s son Bobby (Jack Carroll). A Corrie fan took to a Facebook fan group with their hunch, stating: “I can’t help but think Bobby.” Another fan echoed the sentiment: “Yes I did think Bobby as well.” Yet another chimed in with a dark prediction: “For it to be ‘cold-blooded’ surely that means Rob will kill a family member?
