Coronation Street is set to air dramatic scenes next week as bad boy Harvey Gaskell sends an accomplice to mow down one Weatherfield resident - and it’s not looking good

Coronation Street takes a dramatic turn next week when one cobbles resident is left fighting for their life.

Over in the soap recently, Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) has made it his mission to try and take down Damon Hay. Fans will recall how Adam was heartbroken last year to find out wife Sarah (Tina O’Brien) had an affair with Damon.

And since bad boy Damon (Ciarán Griffiths) returned the cobbles earlier this year, he and Sarah have resumed their fling and relationship – much to the horror of her ex Adam. In a bid to get rid of him, Adam has teamed up with Damon’s brother Harvey Gaskell. In return, solicitor Adam promised to help Harvey (Will Mellor) appeal his murder charge. However, in episodes last week, Adam backtracked on his deal.

He ended up handing in CCTV footage to the cops which ruined Harvey’s chances of an appeal. And over in the soap next week – things take a harrowing turn when the killer calls up Adam to tell him to watch his back. Harvey then decides to take drastic measures and sends one of his accomplices to the street to target Sarah and Bethany (Lucy Fallon).

Adam pushed Bethany out of the way

On the famous street, a car comes flying around the corner, hurtling towards Sarah and Bethany. However, Adam jumps out in front of the vehicle. Pushing Bethany out of the way, Adam takes the full brunt of the hit-and-run himself. It comes after Sarah actor Tina O’Brien shared her thoughts on her character’s new love as she and Adam are pushed apart yet again.

Bethany watches on in horror

Speaking to Daily Star and other press, she told us: “She’s moving very fast, if I was her friend I’d be having strong words with her “She’s very impulsive, she thinks the feelings are love but maybe it’s more that she’s swept up in the romance and the lust. So definitely I’m concerned for her. She does tend to go for a bad boy.

“But I can totally understand why she likes Damon. I think they just get each other, and they click really easily so it’s very easy for her to think this is it, this is forever.” The actress went on to explain how Damon has changed since they last locked lips back in October. Tina went on: “Also, Damon’s not messing her around, he’s saying, ‘I only want you, I want to be with you, I want to make this work’ and I think she likes that as well.

Adam is left on the street

“Although he’s a bad boy, he’s not picking her up and dropping her, he’s all in for her. It has been very quick but also, it’s not their first time if that makes sense. I feel they’ve hit the ground running because they’ve had this previous time together. I think she’s totally thinking he’s changed, it’s a case of he’s told me this so therefore he is.”
