Corrie icon stuns fans with ‘overnight’ transformation as they ask ‘when did that happen’
Coronation Street was back for another episode - but soap icon Tyrone Dobbs, played by Alan Halsall got plenty of people talking after unveiling his new look on the cobbles
Coronation Street fans were left doing a double-take over Tyrone Dobb’s transformation.
The character, played by Alan Halsall, has been a staple on screens for over two decades – making his debut in 1998. And the much-loved mechanic was back on screens during Friday’s episode (March 22).
But it’s fair to say he got plenty of fans talking after they noticed something different about him. During his scenes with mum Cassie (Claire Sweeney) fans noticed how he was rocking a fresh beard.
Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “When did Tyrone grow that beard? Overnight?” Someone else added: “I can’t get over Tyrone having a full beard.”
A third quipped: “Has Tyrone grew that beard overnight or is he dying it? Or am I losing it?” Another chimed in on the social media site and penned: “Tyrone with a beard WTF.”
Earlier this year it was reported that actor Alan had split from co-star Tisha Merry after five years together. The couple first met whilst both working on the much-loved ITV soap.
Tisha was on the show for five years starring as waitress Steph Britton but left in 2019. A source told The Sun: “Alan and Tisha had a lot of love for each other and had really similar interests, enjoying socialising and going on holiday together.
“But they started to drift apart and feel the pressure of making their relationship work get on top of them. They realised they weren’t on the same page and splitting up felt like the best option.”
The source added that they’ve been focusing on themselves and surrounding themselves with their friends. They also claimed that Tisha moved out of Alan’s home last month ago and is focusing on her work.
Last year, Alan was forced to pull out of I’m A Celeb after he had to have a major knee operation. The actor injured himself while exercising.
