Corrie’s Bethany and female co-star romance ‘confirmed’ by Lucy Fallon after return
Coronation Street's Bethany Platt has had her fair share of dating disasters on the cobbles - but actress Lucy Fallon has now teased her new romance with a soap beauty
Coronation Street beauty Lucy Fallon has jokingly confirmed her character’s romance with Daisy Midgeley.
The actress plays Bethany Platt on the ITV soap and recently returned after a five-year break. Bethany rocked up the cobbles at New Year – and has caused plenty of drama already.
She ended up sleeping with ex Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) who was heartbroken after finding out his fiancé Daisy cheated on him. Since then, Bethany and Daisy have been at loggerheads.

But it seems a romance could be blossoming between the two – at least that’s what Lucy and actor Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy, are hoping for.
This week Charlotte took part in a Q&A on Instagram with her followers. The actress was asked: “Daisy + Ryan or Daisy + Daniel???!!”Uploading a video, Charlotte pulled a thinking face before she then panned the camera to show Lucy sitting next to her. Alongside the clip, she wrote: “Daisy + Bethany??? @lucyfallonx.” Lucy then reshared the post to her own Instagram and wrote: “Confirmed.”
Last year, Charlotte revealed her desire to work with Lucy now she’s back. Speaking to Inside Soap about how Daisy will react to the return of Bethany, actor Charlotte said: “I imagine there will be another love triangle.”
She added: “Me and Lucy hung out at the Inside Soap Awards, and we’re both really looking forward to working together.” When asked what she hopes for the future storyline, Charlotte added: “I hope Daisy and Bethany clash, and then something brings them together. If Daisy could have a friend, that would be great.”

Lucy also told Metro in December that she hopes her character gets closer to Charlotte’s. She explained: “Because Daisy is a strong female character and Bethany is also a strong female character, I feel like they’re going to clash.
And also, obviously, they both want the same thing. And I think there’s going to be a bit of a power battle between them both.”
Speaking to Daily Star and other press in December, Lucy teased that her character’s return to the show isn’t all smiles and rainbows. She told us: “She is basically being forced to come back.
“There is something that’s happened in London that has kind of forced her to come back but she’s not revealing that straight away. She’s being a bit secretive about why she has come back.”
