Corrie’s Gail Platt terrorised by infamous serial killer in chilling exit twist
A notorious serial killer has reportedly returned to the Cobbles to terrorise Gail Platt.
Gail (Helen Worth) is about to bow out of the ITV soap after 50 years. She’s about to tie the knot with Jesse Chadwick on Christmas Day, her seventh marriage, surrounded by her beloved Platt clan.
But it seems like she’s in for a nasty shock from infamous Corrie killer Richard Hillman, her ex-husband. It’s said the businessman, played by Brian Capron, returns from the dead and appears in her living room on tonight’s episode (December 24).

Richard died in 2003 when his plan to murder the Platt family failed miserably. He abducted Gail, Sarah, David and Bethany and drove them into the canal, but they were all rescued but him.
“And his and Helen’s scenes were filmed on a closed set with a tiny number of staff to shoot it. It’s a real callback to what’s undoubtedly Gail’s biggest storyline from her time on the show and a celebration of it.”
Helen said of her exit: “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world. I have been truly blessed to have been given the most incredible scripts week in week out, and to have worked with fantastic actors, directors and a brilliant crew.
“The past 50 years have flown by and I don’t think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet.”
