Departing Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan reveals ‘biggest ick’ she has in her storyline
Coronation Street star Charlotte Jordan has revealed the one aspect of her ongoing storyline that would give her a ‘massive ick’ in real life.
The actress, 30, has appeared as Daisy Midgeley on the ITV soap since 2020, and recently announced her departure.
In the lead up to her exit, we’ll see the character harbour her feelings for ex-fiancé Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard), who recently popped the question to Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
To make matters worse, Daniel and Daisy slept together – and after discovering she is pregnant, she’s uncertain whether the child is his, or Kit Green’s (Jacob Roberts).
‘I don’t think Daisy’s feelings towards Daniel will ever change’ Charlotte told us.
‘Daisy always has, and always will be in love with Daniel and has always been holding on to hope that they will get back together.
‘I don’t think she could ever fully move on from him.’
She continued: ‘I think the thing that cut her deep was that Daniel proposed to Bethany on exactly the same day as he had previously proposed to Daisy a couple of years ago – that would be a massive ick for me, I can’t believe Daisy still even wants him!
‘But yeah, Daisy is extremely hurt and heartbroken to hear that they have booked their wedding and I think she’ll try to find a way to retaliate.’
In last night’s episode, both Daniel and Kit realised that Daisy is pregnant, leaving her shell-shocked.
How would she get out of this one?
After reassuring Kit that he was the father, she secretly met with Daniel in the ginnel and told him that there was a strong chance that it could be him. With Kit thrown off the scent, Bethany needn’t ever find out.
‘Daisy is absolutely hoping that Daniel is the father – I think she realises that this could be her last chance at getting that happily ever after with him which is what she’s always wanted’ Charlotte added.
‘Logically I suppose, there is probably a bigger chance that it’s Kit’s baby but she’s putting that to the back of her mind. But we will just need to wait and see!’
There could be a reunion on the horizon for Daisy and Daniel – as a new job prospect for Bethany in London threatens to throw a spanner into their happy engagement.
Charlotte continued: ‘Daisy sees Bethany as her main obstacle really, so with her out of the picture she will think it’s only a matter of time before she can finally get what she wants, which of course is Daniel, and we all know that Daisy will do anything to get what she wants.’
Soon after, Bethany discovers a positive pregnancy test and congratulates Daisy on her good news, assuming Kit to be the baby daddy.
As the all important results come in, she decides that she doesn’t want to know who inpregnanted her.
Something tells us that Daisy won’t bow out of the cobbles quietly!
