A plan cooked up by Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) ends with Leanne (Jane Danson) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) making a huge decision in Coronation Street this coming week.

Toyah and Leanne’s relationship changed forever when Leanne discovered her sister had been sleeping with partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price). For months Leanne had no idea what was going on between them because she was too preoccupied with The Institute.

However, after she found some files on Rowan’s (Emrhys Cooper) computer, Leanne not only discovered the affair, but learnt Rowan had been blackmailing the two of them.

Coming up, Nick tells David (Jack P Shepherd) that a recently arrested Rowan is pleading not guilty to blackmail and fraud, meaning the case will go to trial.

A while later, Sam spots Nick flirting with a customer in the Bistro. He pokes his nose in and tells the woman that Nick is engaged.

In the week, Sam prepares a romantic meal at the flat, hoping it’ll be enough to get Leanne and Nick back together. However, disaster strikes when he uses a sharp knife to try and open some oysters.

A woozy Sam makes his way over to Asha (Tanisha Gorey), who takes him to A&E to fix the wound on his hand.

Once Leanne and Toyah get word of what’s happened to Sam, Leanne tells her sibling that they should both move out of the flat to help Nick and Sam.

She tells Toyah that she’s rented the salon flat, but will Toyah be able to find a place of her own?

‘I was nervous at first because it’s Coronation Street, but the cast were so warm and welcoming. Everyone behind the scenes made me feel so welcomed and it was like a family’, actor Emrhys said in our chat with him at this year’s Inside Soap Awards recently.

‘I have some personal experiences with the subject matter and it actually brought me closer to my dad because I got to speak about his experiences with cults and in very eye-opening and quite healing in a way. I didn’t know much about that and I was a bit judgemental and held a lot of resentment. I think doing this role has helped me grow as a person and also hopefully spread some awareness and cause some entertainment! It’s been fun!’.

‘I felt very grateful’, he added, pondering over what it’s been like to work with so many Corrie legends.

‘They were pure joy to work with everyday. There might’ve been a lot of drama on-screen but off-screen it was just lots of laughs and fun. They have amazing work ethics and lots of talent.

‘There commitment to the storyline. I feel very lucky that I got to work with those actors in particular. But everyone I encountered at work was great, I was surprised because normally there’s a few divas but I’m yet to meet one at Corrie! Only great energy.’
