Drama Queens star Lucy Fallon’s rollercoaster life from famous boyfriend to baby heartbreak

Actress Lucy Fallon lives a much more glamorous life away from the cobbles.
The Coronation Street star, 28, is best known for her soap personality Bethany Platt – but now she is taking fans beyond the scripted drama as she joins ITV’s brand-new reality show Drama Queens, alongside well-known faces from Hollyoaks and Emmerdale.
Of the series, Lucy said: “I joined the Corrie family in 2015 as Bethany Platt and it has been the most incredible journey. I’m now excited for viewers to see a real ‘behind the scenes’ of my chaotic life as an actress and a first-time mum.” Here’s everything we already know about her…
Lucy played Bethany on Corrie from 2015 to 2020 before she left Weatherfield. At the time, there were reports of a rift within the soap as seven stars left in the same year. But Lucy denied rumours of bad blood and said: “I didn’t leave for a particular reason or because I didn’t like it. I left because I wanted to go down different avenues.”
She also posted on Twitter: “Just to clarify, my decision to leave was made in August last year and has nothing to do with ANYONE at Coronation Street. I didn’t make it lightly and I am going to miss every single person there.” Then in 2023, Lucy made the “easy decision” to reprise her role.
While she was away, Lucy met Preston North End midfielder Ryan Ledson, 26, on celebrity dating app Raya in May 2021 and they welcomed a son called Sonny Jude in January 2023. Speaking about her dreams of becoming a mum, Lucy said: “I feel like he’s just slotted into our lives perfectly. He’s really chilled. I feel like we’ve been quite lucky with how he is.”
The couple put plans for baby number two on hold so Lucy could focus on her Corrie comeback – but a wedding could be on the cards one day soon. Lucy confessed in December that she’s been so keen for Ryan to propose, she has been bombarding him with videos of engagement rings on TikTok.
She told the Mirror: “I’m waiting for it… I’ve sent him a few TikToks when I’ve seen a nice ring. I mean, I am going to be wearing it every day, so I want it to be something I like!”

Last year, Lucy opened up about motherhood in an interview with OK! magazine. She said: “It’s been a rollercoaster of high and low moments, with lots of tears along the way. When Sonny was finally born, we were both sobbing – but happy tears.” The couple initially kept the pregnancy a secret after suffering a tragic miscarriage in March at seven weeks.
The new mum told how she was “scared but excited” ahead of welcoming their little one to the world and opened up about the agony of their previous loss. “It was a traumatising, horrendous time,” she told the Mirror last year. “We went for a scan and they couldn’t see anything, so then we went to the hospital and they thought they could see something, so it was very up and down.
“I had pregnancy symptoms and I was feeling really unwell. There were no signs I’d had a miscarriage, so that made it more of a shock. We just assumed everything was going to be fine. Then after a week when they’d done the blood tests and other tests, I went back and they said I’d miscarried. It was a really strange feeling.
“Even though so many people go through it, you never expect it will happen to you. I had imagined this little person who was going to come into our lives and then they were taken away from me. It was really horrible to deal with, but thankfully Ryan was so supportive.”
