Dying Paul left alone as coughing fit takes hold in Coronation Street – as violent dad walks out

Murder shocker as vile Corrie villain returns while Lauren truth is 'revealed'

Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) life is put at risk in Coronation Street soon when he experiences a coughing fit, while on his own in the flat.

Recently in the ITV soap, after an afternoon of karaoke with his friends and family in the pub, Paul discovered how much his speech had started to slur.

After a chat with Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell), Paul decided to record some more phrases on the device he will use when he eventually cannot talk at all.

In upcoming episodes of the ITV soap, focus turns to the MND crowdfunder. Paul, Gemma and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) are all blown away by the response, sure it will make the council sit up and take notice about the possible centre closure.

Meanwhile, a man approaches Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) outside the cafe and tells her he heard Paul’s radio interview at the start of the week and didn’t realise his son was dying. Bernie manages to cover her shock, but then makes out Paul is already dead and the interview was a recording.

Paul and Gemma’s dad, Denny, doesn’t believe Bernie and follows her up to the flat.

Soon enough, the twins come face to face with their father for the first time in years.

Later in the week, Bernie lets off steam to Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) about Denny, secretly worried about some information from her past.

In the flat, Billy reminds Paul that Denny used to hit him when he was younger and cannot be trusted. However, when Paul invites Denny to watch a film, Billy reluctantly leaves them to it.

As their afternoon gets underway, Denny nips out for ice cream.

On the cobbles, he bumps into Gemma and is desperate to meet his grandchildren, failing to think about the fact his unwell son is all alone in the flat.

As Paul waits, he suddenly starts to have a coughing fit and struggles to breathe. He calls for an ambulance but when the operator answers, he drops the phone.

When Denny eventually returns to the flat, he is shocked to find Paul barely conscious.

If Paul’s family find out he was left alone courtesy of Denny, how will they react?
