Ed Bailey’s marriage with Aggie over as she remains missing from Coronation Street

Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) returned to Coronation Street tonight (April 3) – but he wasn’t happy.

The former builder left Weatherfield a few weeks ago to spend time with wife Aggie (Lorna Laidlaw), who was last seen in the Summer.

Following Aggie’s disappearance, we have been told she’s looking after Michael (Ryan Russell) and Dee-Dee’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) aunt. She wasn’t around for Christmas and sadly, doesn’t look set to return anytime soon.

Ed made the decision to see Aggie in Birmingham after experiencing a relapse in his gambling addiction.

As a result of his actions, Ed has lost practically everything and is now being tasked with settling all of his debts.

In tonight’s episode of the ITV soap, Michael and Dee-Dee discussed a letter addressed to Ed that revealed how much he still needed to pay back – and it was a lot.

After Ed returned home, Michael met Dee-Dee outside her work and revealed that Aggie has no intention of coming back to the cobbles to fix her relationship with Ed. As far as she is concerned, they’re over.

The siblings were upset but given that this isn’t the first time Ed’s gambling has ruined their lives, they were hardly surprised.

Back at home though, Michael and Dee-Dee knew that if they didn’t help their dad, things wouldn’t get any better. They sat by him and said they will create a repayment plan for his debts, and support him as best they can.

If Aggie doesn’t want to repair her relationship with Ed, does that mean we won’t see her again?

Can Ed really rebuild his life after losing so much?
