Fears for Toyah Battersby as she is issued a dark warning by dastardly Coronation Street villain

Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) grew concerned for sister Leanne (Jane Danson) in recent Coronation Street scenes when she became enamoured by The Institute.

After being charmed by cult leader Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper), Leanne has committed a lot of time – and money – to The Institute, which has left Toyah desperate to know exactly what she’d gotten herself into.

In recent scenes, Toyah took to the internet to try and find some information, and was horrified to find a scathing review of the organisation.

Toyah was quick to pass on the information to Leanne, explaining how the forum post warned people to stay away, painting The Institute as dodgy and manipulative.

However, when she tried to show her the evidence, she found that the post had been taken down, apparently for legal reasons.

When Leanne informed Rowan of Toyah’s warnings, he was quick to cover, and insisted that the post had been made by one of his exes, who was bitter that he put more effort into The Institute than their relationship.

Leanne was quick to relay this information to Toyah, but not before accepting Rowan’s invitation to an event.

When she and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) returned to the Bistro, Toyah was keen to find out Nick’s opinion, but was shocked when he took Leanne’s side.

Later, Rowan arrived at the Bistro with the journal Leanne had left behind, and Toyah’s welcome was less than inviting.

With Leanne called away to deal with some business, Rowan took the opportunity to give Toyah a stark warning not to spoil Leanne’s happiness.

Will Toyah heed Rowan’s warning, or will she continue to try and change Leanne’s mind?
