Fresh agony for Debbie in Coronation Street as she receives another devastating blow
Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) faced yet more devastation in recent Coronation Street scenes as her wedding fayre took a dramatic turn.
Since being diagnosed with young-onset vascular dementia, Debbie has thrown herself into work, much to the concern of younger brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).
Tonight, the pressure of hosting a wedding fayre on top of everything else became too much for Debbie, who grew stressed after misplacing her clipboard.
Things only got worse when Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) continued to complain about the placement of the Speed Daal stall, leading Debbie to lose her temper and snap back.
Furious, Debbie tried to wrestle the stall out of the hotel entirely, but ended up cutting her hand in the process.
The ordeal resulted in a trip to A&E, with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) insisting on accompanying her.
It seemed as though the rift between them following their break-up was closing, until a nurse arrived to discuss Debbie’s medical history, and she ordered him to leave to stop him finding out the truth about her diagnosis.
However, when she emerged from the appointment, Ronnie was still there, and he was desperate to know exactly why Debbie had chosen to end their relationship when things seemed to be going so well for them.
When Debbie again insisted that she wasn’t happy, Ronnie made it clear that he didn’t believe her.
Desperate to stop him from pushing any further, Debbie said some cruel things about how she could do much better than him.
Upset, Ronnie stormed out and took refuge in the Bistro, where he was quick to start drowning his sorrows.
Having had time to think over the situation, Debbie was full of regret, and decided that she couldn’t leave things with Ronnie on that note.
However, when she arrived at the Bistro hoping to apologise, she was devastated to see him cosying up to none other than Leanne!
Has Debbie blown her chance of making amends with Ronnie?
