Has Tracy Barlow left Coronation Street for good? A star’s message may be bad news

Tracy smirking in Coronation Street

Coronation Street fans have been left wondering if Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) recent exit from the ITV soap is a permanent one, and a co-star’s message may bring bad news for fans of the iconic character.

Recent Corrie scenes saw Tracy leave Weatherfield for Spain with new boyfriend Tommy Orpington, who is moving to take up a job as a football coach.

Tracy and Tommy embarked on a sordid affair earlier this year, with Tracy eventually deciding to leave husband Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) for the decorator.

Steve was left completely devastated and was hopeful that he could win his wife back, but to no avail.

When Steve intercepted a letter from Tommy to Tracy inviting her to move to Spain with him, the scorned lover burnt the letter, leaving Tracy furious when she eventually found out.

Having finally bid the cobbles farewell to start her new life with Tommy, fans have been left wondering if this is the last we’ll see of the iconic character.

Taking to Twitter/X, user @LoveRealityTV4 asked if Tracy was really gone, while Beth pointed out that Tracy’s exit felt ‘real and not temporary’.

Actress Kate Ford recently posted a selfie to Instagram, and one comment from Abi Webster actress Sally Carman has caused a stir among fans.

‘I miss your face!’ She wrote, alongside some yellow love heart emojis, which suggests that maybe Kate hasn’t been on set at Corrie for a while.

Fans were quick to reply to the comment asking if she is leaving for good, and expressing their sadness at losing the character.

Kate has played Tracy since 2002, but the character has been on our screens since 1977.

Over the years, she has made a huge impact and been involved in some of the show’s biggest storylines, including the murder of Charlie Stubbs. Viewers will also fondly remember the years she spent upstairs listening to her tapes.
