Ever since she showed up on the street, fans have had a love-hate relationship with Gemma thanks to her brash behavior.

The barmaid is often seen sat scoffing food with her mouth open on the ITV soap, leaving viewers grossed out.

Viewers took to Reddit and expressed their disgust at the character’s “awful habit”.

One raged: “Arrgh, I can’t stand watching Gemma eat! I get that she’s meant to be a slob, but honestly her ghastly voice and her over the top shouty talking while eating with her gob wide open grinds my gears…”

Another fan chimed in: “It really turns my stomach when Gemma talks with her mouth full. Is it meant to be funny or a comment on how working class people are uncouth? Whatever the reason, it’s awful and needs to stop.”

A third complained: “Worst actress and character in the programme. I hope every day that I’ll read that she’s leaving.”

A fourth fumed: “She’s trying to catch flies to compensate for killing Sinead’s Venus flytrap by feeding it kebab.”

A fifth added: “I find Gemma hard to watch also. Her voice, her eating, she is like a slob. I don’t know why they make her dress the way she does, I really don’t need to see her stomach anymore.”

This isn’t the first time fans have complained about Gemma’s eating etiquette.
