Coronation Street legend Alan Halsall has returned to filming after a stint in the I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

The Tyrone Dobbs actor was seventh to be voted out of the jungle in a shock double eviction alongside social media star GK Barry.

During the hefty flight to Manchester from Australia, he hosted a Q&A on his Instagram Stories, where he revealed when he is set to return to his day job on the cobbles.

‘Back to work Monday,’ he wrote, adding: ‘I can’t wait.’

The actor previously confirmed that his stint on the reality show wouldn’t lead to an exit for Tyrone, assuring fans that he would be back.

He said: ‘Corrie has been fantastic with it all and I am definitely not leaving the soap. You just won’t see my character for a while on-screen.’

Now, having made it back safely to the long-running soap’s production base in Trafford, Greater Manchester, and received a hero’s welcome in the Rovers Return set.

Co-star Claire Sweeney, who joined the show last year as his estranged mum Cassie Plummer, posted an emotional video of him walking into the famous boozer to a round of applause.

Earlier this month, Claire, bursting with pride over his new venture, told Metro: ‘‘He’s lovely, and he’s dead funny as well. He’s my boy!’

And the actress isn’t opposed to braving the experience herself: ‘I’d love to do it’ she admitted.

‘I’m a massive fan of the show, I look forward to it as it starts Christmas off when it comes on. I get so invested in it.’

It was recently revealed that Alan has signed a new Corrie contract securing his place on the street for at least another year – something he is ‘thrilled’ about.

‘I’ve spoken a lot in camp of how humbling it is to be a very small part of Coronation Street,’ he told The Sun.

‘To know that I’ve got a contract that will take me through that is incredibly humbling and proud for me and also proud for my family, being from Salford, growing up Coronation Street fans.

‘I’m thrilled to bits. That’s the job I love, so long may it continue. I’ll maybe have a couple of pints of Guinness to toast it.’
