Inside Tina O’Brien’s marriage to husband Adam Crofts amid rumours of ‘stressful’ split

Tina O’Brien, known for her role as Sarah Platt on Coronation Street, has been a familiar face on TV since 1999. Her personal life, particularly her marriage to Adam Crofts, has recently come under public scrutiny amid rumours of a potential split.

Tina and Adam’s relationship began in 2011 after a chance meeting in a Manchester coffee shop. Tina’s daughter, Scarlett, from her previous relationship with actor Ryan Thomas, played a pivotal role in their introduction. Tina recalled that Scarlett, who was two at the time, approached Adam, leading to their initial conversation. “He was working on his computer and Scarlett went over and said: ‘Hello, man,’” Tina revealed back in 2017. “He told us his name was Adam and we got talking,” she added – and the rest was history.

Their relationship blossomed, and they welcomed their son, Beau, in 2014. It is believed Ryan and Adam are close friends, with Tina revealing: “It’s taken a lot of years and a lot of biting my tongue. Seriously, though, it’s mainly down to Adam and Ryan. It helps that everyone has moved on and is in a happy place.”

The couple became engaged in 2016 after five years of dating – but it was another couple of years before the pair swapped vows. After seven years together, Tina and Adam married on New Year’s Eve in 2018. The ceremony took place at the King Street Townhouse in Manchester, attended by family and friends, including several of Tina’s Coronation Street co-stars.

Adam hails from England and lives with Tina in her native Manchester and he was born on 6 June 1985 – making him 33-years-old when he tied-the-knot with Tina.

He works with Ultimate Performance – which claims to be home to “The World’s Leading Personal Trainers”. According to his Twitter account, Adam is the “business developer” of the personal training company.

In 2022, Tina gushed over their relationship. She shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation between the pair as she dubbed her man “everything” when captioning the exchange. Sharing the screenshot on her Instagram Stories, Tina tagged Adam and added: “He’s my everything!”

Recently, there have been reports suggesting potential issues in Tina and Adam’s marriage. Tina was seen without her wedding ring during a night out in Manchester and has reportedly unfollowed Adam on social media platforms.

She posted images to social media of herself wearing a stunning red dress. She paired the off-the-shoulder look with a bling-y silver handbag and matching high heels. However, the selfie snap showed both hands – and no ring evident on the Instagram Stories upload.

Additionally, Tina took a trip to Barbados with her daughter Scarlett, now 16, but without Adam, further fuelling speculation about their relationship. As of now, neither Tina nor Adam has publicly addressed these rumours.

Speaking of Tina and Adam’s relationship, a source told the Sun: “The couple moved house at Christmas and it was a stressful time. They have been on separate holidays and it cemented for them that they want to be on their own.” The source added: “Everyone is hoping they can work it out but it’s not looking likely.” A representative for Tina has been contacted by The Mirror.
