Investigation into Rob’s attack throws up unexpected suspect in Coronation Street
An investigation is set to get underway this week when Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) is found motionless at the bottom of a flight of stairs in Coronation Street.
Rob was recently visited in prison by son Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), who begged the killer to donate his kidney to Carla Connor (Alison King), who was in need of another transplant.
Sensing an opportunity, Rob eventually agreed, and after some persuasion Carla accepted his offer of a kidney, despite her suspicions.

It soon became clear that Rob was plotting to escape with girlfriend and prison warden Mandy, and had no intention of donating his kidney.
Fortunately, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) caught onto his plan, and made a deal to encourage him to stay put.
She offered to get his sentence overturned if he agreed to help Carla, and Rob recorded the conversation to ensure that she couldn’t go back on her word.
Before he is found at the bottom of the office block stairwell next week, Rob calls Mandy demanding her help.
He is shocked when she reveals that she has been suspended from her job because someone found out about their secret relationship.
A plan formed, Mandy tells Carla that Rob’s health has taken a turn for the worse.
As disbelieving Carla demands to speak to a nurse, Mandy turns on her – but is she in danger?
With Rob having been left for dead, DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) launches an investigation, and it doesn’t take long for someone unexpected to fall into the frame…
Kit pulls Lisa in for questioning as he continues to try to get to the bottom of Rob’s attack – but is she responsible?
