Coronation Street fans have been left worried for Max Turner after he got trapped in the burning Platts house.

At the end of last night’s episode, Max’s fate was hanging in the balance as the house exploded from the flames. Someone had been seen putting a lit rag through the letterbox – but we are yet to find out who did it.

Max had rushed in to try and save Lily from the fire, but she was safe elsewhere. Toyah was unconscious in the house and was dragged out by Nick, with everyone giving her CPR as they tried to save her.

Max, meanwhile, was stuck in the house after following Shona in. She made it out OK but Max’s fate is yet to be revealed. Will he be ok or will he die in shocking and devastating scenes?

It has yet to be revealed if Max will survive his injuries but in the opening of the new episode, which aired tonight, Max was rescued by the firefighters and rushed to hospital with bad news.

We are yet to find out if Max will survive, but his exit from the soap has been confirmed. He exclusively told The Mirror earlier this year: “After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.

“It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”

A source also confirmed to us that Paddy Bever – who plays Max – had told bosses he wanted to leave when his contract was up.

“He finished filming at the end of 2024 and will exit as part of a huge upcoming storyline for the Platt family. Everyone at Corrie loves Paddy and we wish him every success for the future,” a source said.

“This is not a surprise or a shock and is all part of the ebb and flow of characters from the show. We have many new characters joining in the coming weeks and months – and also some returning characters.”

But will Max die – or will he leave in a very different way? Only time will tell!
