It’s just been confirmed that Glenda is going to be the new manager of The Rovers!! 😍🤗

Coronation Street fans have been given a major update about the Rovers Return Inn, which spells more bad news for Jenny Connor.
Viewers will remember that Jenny and her stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley purchased the famous pub back in 2023. They used illicit funds after successfully accessing the accounts of Jenny’s late ex-boyfriend Stephen Reid, who had stolen from Carla Connor’s factory accounts.
In typical soap opera style, Carla eventually found out the truth, leading to the duo agreeing to a payment plan to settle their debts with her. However, following Carla’s health issues and kidney transplant, the owner of Underworld has demanded full repayment to cover her costly medical bills.
Unable to raise the necessary funds, Carla decided to put the renowned pub on the market. Jenny, having recently come into £60,000 from shares Daisy’s father had put in her name, pleaded for first refusal.

Jenny kept her plan and her significant windfall a secret from Daisy, who retaliated by leaving Jenny without money or a pub, with assistance from her mother Christina Boyd, reports Belfast Live.
The pair tricked Jenny by creating a fake dating profile for a man named ‘Dom’. When ‘Dom’ appeared in person, he persuaded Jenny to invest in his business, promising she would double her investment as part of the trio’s scam.
However, in a dramatic turn of events, it was Daisy who absconded with Jenny’s money last week. She said goodbye to the cobbles after five years, leaving Jenny heartbroken by the recent events.
In a dramatic turn of events, Jenny is set to leave the pub for good next week as she moves in with Rita Tanner after losing her money and seeing the pub put up for sale. Spoilers for next week reveal that Jenny has packed her belongings, marking a significant change at the Rovers Return Inn.
With Jenny’s departure while her nephew Ryan Connor continues his work for Debbie Webster, this leads to Carla promoting Glenda Shuttleworth to the position of manager at the iconic pub.

However, Glenda soon finds herself in deep water, confiding in Carla that she’s understaffed and in dire need of additional workers. The question on everyone’s lips is whether Carla will be able to secure a new barmaid and who might step into the role…
Amidst these developments, Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy, recently shared her thoughts on her character’s exit: “I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy to be leaving. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her.”
Reflecting on her own journey, she added: “As for me, I’m feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I’ve gotten to work with. Producer Kate has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit and very generous with Daisy’s exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice.”
Charlotte concluded with heartfelt sentiments about her time on Coronation Street: “Coronation Street is a very special building, and I have loved it. And it’s just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever.”
