Coronation Street fans have made their feelings clear – as Lauren Bolton’s murderer was finally ‘revealed’.

The ITV soap is airing a very special week of episodes to coincide with the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals as we finally learn what happened to Lauren Bolton on the night she disappeared. The police, led by DS Swain, are convinced she is dead after finding a blood stained leg of a chair in her flat, but is that what happened, or is she still alive?

The soap has been teasing a huge week for the show, as Roy’s hell in prison comes to a nasty head whilst Nathan Curtis finds himself firmly on the radar for Lauren’s disappearance and murder, when Sarah tries to get involved.

This week, soap fans will watch on as the first four episodes will show the same day through different character’s eyes, and the truth of what really happened to Lauren will be revealed. Tonight, the story focused around Sarah and her desperation to help her daughter Bethany be rid of her evil abuser Nathan for good – but what lengths will she go to to get him locked up?

Speaking about the huge scenes, executive Producer Iain MacLeod, shared: “This week is so gripping and unlike anything Coronation Street has done before, in terms of the story-telling. It’s modern, really exciting and has some of our favourite characters right in the middle of the drama. The murder mystery around Lauren has had us all on the edge of our seats and the race against time across this week to solve it before Roy gets seriously hurt is so engrossing and cleverly plotted. It is also the launchpad for a massive new chapter in that narrative – so you really won’t want to miss it, if you want to carry on trying to piece together this thrilling puzzle!”

Taking to social media tonight, fans gave their thoughts on the big scenes – as they underwent a huge format change for the special week of episodes when all is set to be revealed about Lauren’s shock disappearance and death.

“Why is the colour weird? Is it a dream? #corrie,” one wrote on Twitter, whilst a second added: “s there some weird filter going on here #corrie.” A third penned: “That intro gives me the chills omfg #corrie,” with a fourth adding on Twitter: “Don’t think I like this camera work ! #Corrie.” A fifth wrote: “This is rivalling Hollyoaks with this level of cinematography #corrie.”
