ITV Coronation Street spot blunder with Nathan Curtis’ return storyline as Lauren’s death ‘sealed’
Evil villain Nathan Curtis made his return to the Coronation Street cobbles tonight leaving Bethany Platt stunned - with her left convinced that he must be to blame for what happened to Lauren Bolton
Villainous Nathan Curtis returned to Coronation Street tonight – leaving Bethany Platt stunned.
Bethany was shocked to see her evil ex back on the Cobbles after all he put her through. Whilst the others are unsure whether it really is him, Bethany is adamant Nathan is back and is convinced he has something to do with Lauren Bolton’s disappearance.
Lauren went missing – and is presumed dead after a frenzied attack – a few months ago and was thought to have been murdered, but with a body yet to be located, there is still hope she could still be alive. Whilst Bethany is convinced Nathan is hiding something to do with Lauren, fans have rumbled another thing they think he could be hiding.
Sharing their confusion, one fan wrote: “Bethany would’ve been informed that Nathan was being released? #Corrie,” whilst a second added: “Why did nobody tell Bethany that Nathan got released? #Corrie.” Others are convinced Nathan was responsible for Lauren’s death, with another fan sharing: “I wonder if Nathan is the 1 who’s done something to Lauren? It’s quite possible. #Corrie.”

Speaking about his return, Chris Harper – who plays Nathan – said: “I was emotional when I was told about Nathan’s potential return. During the 18 months he was in it before, hundreds of people shared with me how the storyline reflected something they, or someone they loved, had lived through. It remains important to keep them in mind as we continue Bethany’s story.
“Once again, I am grateful for the ongoing support of Barnardo’s, NSPCC, S.H.E.UK, and all the people who trusted me last time. We have another chance to raise an issue that affects so many lives, so often shrouded in shame.”
Discussing his character, he said: “I do love playing Nathan though. He is funny, deceitful, slippery, manipulative and ruthless. Now he is also under a lot of pressure too. This new storyline is absolutely full of twists. It really is good to be back on the hallowed cobbles. So much has happened since we saw Nathan sent to prison, but Coronation Street is a constant.”
During his past storyline, Nathan targeted Bethany and made plans to have her transported to Belgium while her family begged her to leave him. Just before she was taken away, the police showed up at his home and arrested him for a third time.
