Coronation Street offered more clues about missing Lauren Bolton on Monday night as Roy Cropper had a flashback.

Only recently, Roy has found himself arrested, charged and the number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren. Soap fans will recall that troubled youngster Lauren abruptly left the cobbles earlier this year and her friend Bobby has been left concerned after he found her flat unlocked with Lauren nowhere to be seen.

Viewers never saw Lauren leave and it seems she told no one close to her of her plan to leave Weatherfield aside from Roy. Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police and Roy has found himself under suspicion due to his kind nature, especially after he was caught innocently cleaning Lauren’s flat, which some people thought proved he was guilty and internet sleuths have since made his life a misery with a barrage of online abuse.

On Monday night, Roy had another flashback of Lauren approaching the café counter with Max Turner, where the duo were smiling, but Roy couldn’t figure out what was significant about their conversation as Roy said: “There was something…” Roy was soon disturbed from his chain of thoughts when a prison officer banged on the door, leaving the café owner frustrated.

However, things took a devastating turn when Roy was found collapsed in his prison cell as he was rushed to hospital. Later, Roy’s loved ones – Nina Lucas and Carla Connor – gathered in the hospital, concerned about Roy who thankfully regained consciousness. However, there was more heartbreak in store as Roy told Carla their friendship was over after she backed up her nephew Bobby’s lie to the police in a bid to save Roy.

Roy, who never lies and condemns deceit, told Carla: “I feel very uncomfortable and I’d rather you didn’t visit me again, in fact as far as I’m concerned, this is the end of our friendship” to which an upset Carla said: “Roy, no, you don’t mean that!” However, Roy added: “I’m afraid I do, now, I’d like you to go… I really need to rest” with Carla left in tears.

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were quick to predict if Roy having flashbacks of Lauren and Max meant that it was a hint the latter was involved in Lauren’s disappearance. One person said: “Is coronation street hinting it was Max? #Corrie” while another added: “What is going on with Roy? He’s trying to piece together that Max killed Lauren? #Corrie #coronationstreet.”
