ITV Coronation Street legend stuns fans with ‘overnight’ transformation amid new DNA storyline

Coronation Street fans were left stunned on Friday night as one legendary character appeared to have an “overnight” transformation.

During the latest episode, Tyrone Dobbs’ mother Cassie Plummer confessed the truth about his parentage to her own mum Evelyn Plummer. Tyrone has never met his dad with him also not knowing who he was, with him and viewers kept in the dark.

However, a comment from Cassie saw her confessing to Evelyn that she fell pregnant after sleeping with a man who had paid her for sex. Cassie had admitted her past sex work as a teenager, after an older man she was in love with forced her to sleep with his friends for cash.

Evelyn was horrified, having no idea what happened to her daughter all those years ago as they had a fragile relationship. She asked Cassie if one of the men she slept with was Tyrone’s father to which she agreed.

While she did not name them or say who it was or what happened to them, she appeared to confirm it was not the older man she was seeing. She also didn’t state whether she knew who it was or not.

However, viewers were left distracted during the scenes as they spotted that Tyrone had undergone an “overnight” transformation as the legendary character suddenly sported a beard during the scenes with Tyrone usually having a clean shaven or stubble look.

Taking to social media, one person said: “What the heck ! Tyrone has suddenly got a huge beard and no one has noticed”, a different account put: “Tyrone has grown a beard overnight #Corrie”, another wrote: “When did Tyrone grow that beard? Overnight? #corrie”, a different fan said: “Wait when did Tyrone grow a beard?? #corrie” while another added: “#Corrie how did Tyrone grow a full beard overnight?”

It comes as after Cassie’s bombshell, some viewers are convinced a twist could see an existing character find out he is Tyrone’s father, while a further theory saw fans predicting the mystery man would soon arrive on the cobbles. Some viewers even wondered if Kevin Webster or villain Harvey Gaskell could be Tyrone’s real father.
