ITV Coronation Street Max’s link to Lauren return ‘sealed’ after ‘telling’ clue

Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton made a shock comeback on Monday as Cait Fitton reprised her role.

Weeks on from a brutal attack by Joel Deering, which Weatherfield residents still don’t know about, Lauren, who was believed to be dead, was revealed to be alive as she headed to the hospital to visit Roy Cropper after he suffered a heart attack weeks on from him being wrongly imprisoned for Lauren’s ‘murder’.

And it appears Joel could face his comeuppance next as Lauren returns to the cobbles to apologise to Roy and then pops into the Rovers, where good friend Bobby, who previously lead a search party for her alongside Max Turner, offers her his bed for the night. It remains to be seen where Lauren was hiding and if anyone else knew about her whereabouts.

However, one clue may have been revealed weeks ago on the ITV soap. Back in May, David Platt had been hoovering when he came across a bag full of blonde hair dye and makeup under Max’s bed. Max was left annoyed to find David with his belongings as he got defensive before admitting they belong to Lauren, although he added “were Lauren’s” implying she was gone or dead, insisting he wanted to keep them in memory. Could this have been a hint Max was helping her and he was going to drop the items off?

Taking to Twitter, now X, at the time one person said: “I think max has taken Lauren.. why is there blonde hair dye under Max’s bed? Lauren is blonde maybe dyed blonde? That could be a big clue for next week… @itvcorrie #Corrie”, a different account put: “So Max had a box of Lauren’s hair dye and it was under his bed? Interesting #Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie” while another wrote: “Oh that’s suspicious Max #Corrie…”

It comes as actress Cait Fitton, who plays Lauren, went to great lengths to keep her huge soap return a secret. Cait told how she had to hide in the boot of her co-star’s car to ensure she wasn’t spotted when filming her return scenes. “I had to sneak in and out the building, getting lifts from Calum but having to get in the boot to make sure I wasn’t being seen,” laughed Cait, 22.

“People would be at the front getting selfies, I’d be in the boot still. So it was a bit chaotic! It was like a massive game of twister in that boot, it was tiny. There were times when I had to get on the floor in a taxi, the driver was wondering what’s going on – and I’d just shout go go go! It was mad. Fun but mental. I never thought I would have to be doing that to get into work.”
