ITV Coronation Street reveals new ‘neighbours from hell’ to cause chaos on soap
Coronation Street has confirmed that a new family is set to join the soap, with the new clan set to cause chaos and a "trail of devastation" in Weatherfield
Coronation Street is set to welcome a new family that promises to stir up drama on the cobbles, it has been confirmed.
The ITV soap has seen numerous families, from the Platts to the Barlows, make Weatherfield their home and win over the hearts of its dedicated fanbase. Now, it’s been revealed that a fresh family is moving in, ready to “cause a lot of damage and chaos”.
Corrie’s new boss Kate Brooks spilled the beans to Plymouth Live, introducing the new arrivals: “They are Mick and Lynn, they are coming to live at the back of Chesney’s [Brown].”
Describing them, she said: “They are livewires, they are ruffians and they are going to cause a lot of damage and chaos. There is a link to Chesney initially, but they are coming to stir up a lot of trouble.” Kate also warned they’re set to cause havoc, reports Plymouth Live.
Initially linked to Chesney, they’ll also befriend him and Gemma, but there’s more to their story. Their arrival will certainly shake things up, especially for one resident – corrupt cop Kit Green (Jacob Roberts). Kate revealed: “They are also coming to open up the floodgates and unpack the past of one of our big characters, which is Kit [Green].”
Kate has labelled the new family as the “neighbours from hell”, describing them as “coming in with oodles of drama”. However, she also noted that they are not entirely villainous.
She shared: “They have got a charm to them as well, they are not just inherently unlikeable characters, they have got a charisma they’ve got charm. But they just do and say things that you shouldn’t say or do!”
The boss further warned: “I wouldn’t get on the wrong side of them though, especially Mick. They are coming to cause some chaos on the street, and there will be a trail of devastation let’s just say.” Regarding their debut on screens, Kate disclosed it would be around February.
