Coronation Street's latest episode saw one character declare they were the owner of The Rovers pub on the ITV soap, months on from Daisy Midgeley and Jenny Connor reopening it

Daisy Midgeley and Jenny Connor were forced to hand over the pub on Coronation Street

Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley and Jenny Connor were forced to hand over the pub, as the ‘real’ owner took action.

In the latest episode of the ITV soap, Carla Connor made a devastating discovery about the pair as she learned the truth about her stolen money. Daisy and Jenny had got their hands on the money that killer Stephen Reid, Jenny’s ex, had nicked from Carla’s factory late last year before his death.

Carla was devastated to never get that money back, unaware Daisy had gained access to Stephen’s accounts and took it for herself. Despite Jenny’s link to Carla, Daisy went ahead with it and encouraged Jenny to cover it up as they needed the money to save the pub.

While claiming they had been given a loan with Daisy suggesting her mother offered her some money, Daisy and Jenny hid the rest of the money and kept the truth from everyone. Daisy has been seen splashing the cash recently sparking suspicion, and resulting in the truth finally coming to light.

Carla ended up getting a confession out of Jenny who was mortified over what they had done, and begged for Carla’s forgiveness. She vowed to pay back every penny, and soon Carla stormed over to the pub to confront Daisy who had also been using the money to buy expensive outfits.

Daisy showed no remorse leaving Carla angry, with her also mocking Jenny for apologising to her. As Daisy shared some nasty words it was her facing the repercussions, as Carla declared the pub was now hers given they used her money to buy it.

The women were shocked, as Carla told them that given that she technically paid for it, until they paid back every penny she would take over the ownership of the venue. She revealed she’d be going through the books, making the big decisions and she even fired Daisy on the spot.

Viewers took to X over the scenes, thrilled as Carla was declared the new owner of The Rovers. One viewer posted: “Hahah YESS Carla, you take over the pub girl,” as another said: “Obsessed with Carla just taking over the pub hahaha.”
