Coronation Street is set for explosive scenes as the hit ITV soap will be in a shake-up for a special week of episodes.

Spoilers for next week see the show only air on Monday and Friday night in a schedule shake-up as the soap typically airs on Wednesdays too. Meanwhile on Corrie, tragedy will strike as Paul Foreman dies in a devastating episode amid his motor neurone disease (MND) diagnosis.

Elsewhere, with Paul’s heartbreaking final scenes, there will also be another double exit on the cobbles as Alina Pop reveals she will be leaving for Romania with son Dorin. Coronation Street is set to air a devastating episode involving Paul Foreman. Paul was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) last year leaving him distraught. He kept his diagnosis a secret for some time but eventually told Billy Mayhew and those close to him what he was going through. Only recently, things have deteriorated for the cobbles favourite and next week will tragically see Paul die.

Spoilers for next week see a hungover Billy realise he’s lost his phone as he starts panicking as his mobile contains photos and memories of Paul. In a bid to recover his device, Billy sets off to retrace his steps. However, at the same time in a cruel twist of fate, Summer Spellman and Bernie Winter are horrified to discover Paul unresponsive on the sofa, struggling to breathe.

It’s not long until Summer calls an ambulance but realising that Billy has left Paul at the worst possible time, with no way of contacting him, Bernie and Summer do everything they can to keep Paul alive. With the odds against him, will Billy make it in time to say his final goodbye to Paul?

Later in the week, spoilers tragically reveal Paul’s fate as Billy wakes up on the sofa and stares at Paul’s empty wheelchair, where he is hit with the sad reality that life now goes on without Paul. Meanwhile, tensions are high between Paul’s family as they grieve the loss of him. Can they all come together to plan Paul’s funeral?

In upcoming scenes, Tyrone Dobbs tells wife Fiz Stape that the people traffickers have been arrested, which means his ex Alina has come out of hiding and will be picking up their son Dorin the next day.

Two villains ‘rumbled’ after huge mistake

Meanwhile next week, with two villains still on the cobbles it appears Joel Deering and Rowan Cunliffe will be rumbled. At the start of the week, Nick Tilsley tells Toyah Battersby that he is going to report Rowan to the police for blackmail after The Institute leader threatened the duo over their affair, claiming he would tell Leanne Battersby, who he has brainwashed into the cult.

After sharing his plans with Toyah, Nick calls at the police station and hands DS Lisa Swain a notebook with all of the details. Meanwhile, Leanne confides in Amy Barlow, who Rowan conned into handing over her £40,000 inheritance money, that she has emailed herself a load of files on Rowan’s computer, could Leanne have the key to getting Amy’s money back? Later in the week, Nick calls at the flat with news about Rowan. Will it be more bad news or will the villain finally be rumbled?

Meanwhile, DS Swain informs Dee-Dee that Joel’s work phone showed some text message exchanges with a female and she’s going to follow it up. It’s not long until PC Craig Tinker agrees to help track down Ellie, the contact from Joel’s phone, but is warned that nobody must find out or they could lose their jobs. After some research, Craig finds Ellie’s address, but will she want to talk to the police?
