ITV Coronation Street ‘rumble’ newcomer Rowan’s link to Lauren after murder twist
Coronation Street viewers think new character Rowan Cunliffe could be linked to teen Lauren Bolton's disappearance on the ITV soap, after his recent debut
Coronation Street newcomer Rowan Cunliffe could share a sinister link to missing teen Lauren Bolton, fans say.
Amid Lauren being feared dead with police saying she has likely been murdered, her apparent killer is at large. One character who debuted around the time of Lauren’s fate possibly being confirmed is newcomer Rowan, who Leanne Battersby met on Friday.
Ahead of a sinister cult storyline on the ITV soap, newcomer Rowan introduced himself to Leanne and will feature in new episodes across this week. Leanne attended a seminar for The Institute with her stepson Simon Barlow, where she got talking to the speaker, Rowan.
But as Rowan spoke to Leanne and told her all about The Institute, viewers did not get a good impression. With scenes regarding Lauren’s potential murder unfolding around the time of his debut, some fans can’t help but think Rowan might be behind her going missing.
Taking to X, one fan posted: “Okay so the lauren storyline is leading into the cult storyline?” Another viewer commented: “I don’t trust Rowan at all.”
It comes after Roy Cropper was arrested for the crime on Friday, after he cleaned Lauren’s flat before a gruesome discovery. On Friday, DS Swain confirmed a likely murder weapon had been located, after blood and human tissue was found on an item from the flat as well as on the curtains.
Swain claimed to murder suspect Roy that given the evidence found, she had likely been hit over the head as the blood splatter and tissue found was consistent with blunt head trauma. She also revealed that a leg from a broken chair had been found, and this was covered in blood too.
Officers now believe someone attacked and killed Lauren with the chair leg, likely hitting her over the head. While no body has been found, they are convinced they have now solved her fate.
The soap has not confirmed whether Lauren is dead and what happened to her, after she vanished weeks ago. Rowan will feature in more scenes this week, but might he really be linked to Lauren’s vanishing act or is someone else to blame?
