Peaky Blinders fans are set to see a familiar face on Coronation Street in upcoming scenes as Harvey Gaskell’s prison release plan is revealed.

Next week will see viewers introduced to new character, John Perry, who is played by actor Ian Peck with the latter playing Curly on Peaky Blinders from 2013 to 2022. Soap fans will recall that Harvey is currently in prison for the death of Natasha Blakeman, who was murdered in 2021 after she was accidentally shot by Harvey, who had mistook her for Leanne Battersby.

In recent scenes, solicitor Adam Barlow has teamed up with Harvey as they both have the same enemy, Damon Hay, who had an affair with Adam’s now estranged wife Sarah Platt and is the brother of Harvey. Adam said he would help with an appeal for Harvey’s sentence as long as he helped him get rid of Damon.

However, Adam gets more than he bargained for next week when he realises the full details of Harvey’s prison release plan. In upcoming scenes, Adam is left emotional as Sarah suggests it is time they discuss their divorce after being urged by Damon.

Adam insists to Sarah that he wants the flat sold as he doesn’t want Damon living in what was once his family home. Later, Adam visits Harvey and runs through his grounds for appeal. During the meeting, Adam explains that the only way to be sure of success is if they can pin Natasha’s murder on someone else.

After the meeting, Harvey calls Adam, telling him a man called John Perry is willing to confess to Natasha’s murder. Later, Adam tracks down John to Weatherfield General and is horrified to realise he’s a cancer patient.

Later in the week, Sarah tells Adam that she is happy to sell the flat as she and Damon are going to buy a house with a garden, leaving the solicitor seething. Following Sarah’s bombshell, Adam goes over John’s confession on the way to the police station. Will they go through with the plan and could Harvey be released?

As well as Peaky Blinders, actor Ian Peck, who is playing John, has starred on a collection of TV shows and movies over the years. Ian has appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as a Hogsmeade Death Eater in 2011, His Dark Materials from 2019 to 2020, Lady Chatterley’s Lover in 2015, The Bill and Midsomer Murders. Ian has also appeared on Coronation Street before, playing two characters – Denton in 2015 and Prison Officer Lindworth in 2009.
