Also on the cobbles, Daniel Osbourne finds himself under suspicion for missing Lauren. Here’s the biggest moments ahead on Coronation Street next week…

Roy Cropper arrested for Lauren Bolton’s murder and Daniel Osbourne under suspicion in devastating twist

Coronation Street favourite Roy Cropper is accused of killing missing Lauren Bolton on the ITV soap next week. The soap legend finds himself being arrested, spoilers reveal, as the police claim Lauren has been murdered. After blood is found at her flat, Roy’s apparently suspicious behaviour leads to him being arrested for her murder in upcoming episodes.

It could spell an exit for the icon decades after his Weatherfield debut, as he faces prison if Lauren has in fact been killed. The teenager has been missing for weeks after vanishing from her flat, with no one knowing where she is.

As concern grows for her and Bobby appeals for her safe return, there’s a startling discovery at her flat that changes everything. Bobby heads to the flat, after Sean Tully claims to have found blood all over the curtains.

Bobby then goes to the police station to report the update as the search for Lauren continues, and it leads to two Weatherfield residents being questioned by officers. Bobby tells DS Swain about Lauren trying to kiss Roy and him giving her a job, somewhere to live and even cleaning up the flat after she vanished.

Bobby admits he’s suspicious of the character over this, especially seeing as Roy was one of the last people to see Lauren before she vanished. Roy is questioned about all of this by DS Swain, and later in the week it gets worse when he faces arrest for her murder.

Prior to this, Daniel finds his own relationship with Lauren under question after the teacher tutored her last year. Lauren’s pal Max Turner wastes no time in suggesting Daniel is Lauren’s mystery ex who has been harassing her for weeks, telling the police this.

Daniel is asked about his meetings with Lauren, and it’s suggested she paid for her lessons with sex. When Daniel’s past is brought up, with Summer and Nicky being mentioned, he demands a solicitor as he fears the worst.

Later, he and girlfriend Bethany are horrified as they listen to a radio interview with DS Swain in which she suggests that Lauren has been murdered. With Lauren thought to be dead, Daniel fears he’ll be banged up for a murder he didn’t commit.

Roy faces trolling online after the accusation towards him is made public, and Suzi from the Gazette arrives at the café hoping to record a fresh appeal. But DS Swain soon arrives and tells Roy she’s arresting him on suspicion of the murder of Lauren.

Carla and Nina watch on in horror as Roy is led away by officers for the crime, and the video of his arrest is posted online. But what has happened to Lauren, and can anyone help Roy?

Four exits ‘revealed’ as one character to leave ITV soap after 21 years

Coronation Street viewers could witness a quadruple exit in coming weeks, after some sad news and a double prison twist. Four Weatherfield characters look set to leave if next week’s spoilers are anything to go by. One character will leave the show 21 years after their debut on the ITV soap, with it confirmed the actor playing him since 2008 has quit the role.

But three other characters also look set to depart for good in the coming weeks, with spoilers teasing how they will all leave the show. Simon Barlow could face prison in a new twist, 21 years after his birth on the soap in 2003.

Months on from the departure of his father Peter Barlow, Simon will leave the show at some point this year following actor Alex Bain quitting his role after 16 years. It’s not known how he will leave, but spoilers for next week reveal the recent drink-driving crash is about to catch up with him.

After leaving Sam Blakeman seriously injured, Simon decides to take responsibility for his actions. In upcoming scenes he will head to court where he will learn whether he will get a custodial sentence after confessing his guilt previously.

Coronation Street fans were left angry on Thursday's episode as Mason Radcliffe's bullying storyline continued

Simon had been over the alcohol limit after drinking heavily the night before when he crashed the car and injured Sam. Next week, he will tell stepmother Leanne and Sam’s dad Nick that he’s prepared for whatever punishment the magistrate throws at him as he deserves it.

It’s not confirmed what the court says and what their verdict is, so could this be how Simon leaves, and might he head to prison? He’s not the only one possibly facing time behind bars.

There’s an update on bully Mason Radcliffe next week after he was finally exposed for tormenting Liam Connor, and also threatening him with a knife. The police tell Liam’s mother Maria Connor and stepfather Gary Windass that Mason’s been charged with threatening with a bladed article in a public space, and he’ll likely receive a custodial sentence.

So with Mason possibly spending time behind bars, does this mean an exit is looming? Elsewhere, the return of Eliza’s dad Dom leads to some sad news and a big exit decision. Eliza tells her grandfather Stu Carpenter she is keen to move to Germany with her dad, away from Weatherfield.

While Stu is torn, he soon comes to a decision and admits to Dom that he’s been selfish and suggests that Eliza has two weeks with him in Germany at Easter as a trial run, with a view to moving there permanently. So does this mean both Dom and Eliza are leaving the show for good, or will Eliza change her mind?
