Coronation Street spoilers have teased two new twists in the Lauren Bolton storyline, from a return to a discovery by DS Swain.

A new video preview for Wednesday’s episode and another for Friday has revealed twists ahead. Lauren has been missing since February, and the police are treating her disappearance as murder.

Roy Cropper found himself charged with Lauren’s murder in scenes last week and he now faces prison for the rest of his life. Amid Weatherfield residents vowing to prove his innocence, there’s still no sign of Lauren and no clues as to what has happened to her.

Lauren’s love interest Bobby Crawford makes a new claim about the night Lauren went missing, and someone he apparently saw leaving her flat. Bobby gives mixed claims over the incident, suggesting he didn’t speak to the man but also suggesting he was threatened or was left scared by the mystery person.

Bobby’s attempts to help Roy could just make matters worse, as soon enough Bobby is questioned over the man he apparently saw. DS Swain questions why he or Carla Connor didn’t say anything about this until now, months on from her going missing.

As she appears to rumble his true intentions, she tells Bobby exactly what she thinks of his tale before dropping a warning on him about his possible lies. With him panicked, he watches on as Swain warns that lying to the police would be perverting the course of justice.

This itself carries a possible custodial sentence, and Swain warns Bobby to think very carefully about what he says. So will Bobby end up changing his statement, or might he really have seen someone after all?

Later in the week as the storyline rumbles on, there’s a big return. Daniel Osbourne turns to pal and former character Nicky Wheatley in his bid to find Lauren, amid him also being a suspect.

Nicky hasn’t been on the show for a few of years, and actress Kimberly Hart-Simpson is reprising the role for the scenes. Daniel turns to Nicky because of her history with sex work, after an article about Lauren suggests she was working as an escort.

Daniel meets with Nicky, only to be watched by Bobby and Max Turner. As they declare they’ve caught him red-handed, will it cause more trouble for Daniel, and what exactly is he up to?
