ITV Coronation Street spring spoilers ‘sealed’: Sick villain returns, dark Toyah twist and sad exit
Coronation Street spoilers and theories could reveal big plots on the way on the ITV soap, amid reports of a shock return and the truth about Lauren Bolton yet to be revealed
Coronation Street fans may in for quite a spring if theories are anything to go by, with spoilers also teasing huge scenes.
Recent reports have revealed a return for one sickening character, amid theories he could be linked to another resident’s disappearance. Speaking of the missing character, might we finally find out what really happened to Lauren Bolton and if she’s alive?
We still don’t know who is involved, but perhaps upcoming scenes will shed light on this. Roy Cropper’s fate will also inevitably be revealed, amid him being charged with murder.
As upcoming scenes see Toyah Battersby make a devastating confession about her past, we will see the character revisit what happened in a difficult storyline that has sparked backlash. There’s also the cult storyline, with newcomer Rowan reeling in Leanne more and more ahead of a big exit on the show.
Full spoilers for spring and beyond are yet to be revealed, but teasers and theories have suggested plenty of drama on the way. Here’s what fans may see in the coming weeks and months…
Villain’s ‘return’
It’s been reported that Nathan Curtis will return to the soap, amid speculation he is linked to Lauren’s storyline. Nathan groomed Bethany Platt when she was a teenager, before forcing her to sleep with his friends.
After planning to sell her into sex work abroad Bethany found the courage to expose his crimes, with Nathan and others being part of a child grooming gang. Nathan has been in prison since 2017, but reports suggest he will be released from prison in the coming weeks, leaving Bethany terrified.
Exit drama
There’s reported exits on the way, including the confirmed departure of Simon Barlow actor Alex Bain. It’s claimed he was written out of the show after 15 years, with his exit plot looming.
There’s also mixed reports once more over a possible departure for Beth Tinker actress Lisa George, who previously denied claims she was leaving the show. Alya Nazir will leave the show as actress Sair Khan heads off on maternity leave, while Eileen Grimshaw actress Sue Cleaver is taking a break and it’s not yet clear if Tracy Barlow has left for good!
Lauren’s fate exposed?
(
ITV)
At some point there has to be an update on Lauren’s true fate and what really happened to her. Viewers are still waiting to find out if she’s alive and who has possibly taken or killed her.
We don’t know the events leading up to her sudden exit, and why there was blood in her flat. We also do not know the identity of the mystery ex who was harassing her and possibly violent towards her – so might all of this finally come to light?
Cult horror
It was claimed earlier this year that a cult storyline was being tackled by the ITV soap, and soon enough newcomer Rowan made his entrance. In recent weeks, we’ve seen Leanne Battersby drawn in by Rowan’s seminars and guidance as part of the Autovalent Institute.
Leanne will be isolated from her loved ones and encouraged to ditch them, as Rowan continues to reel her in. It’s said other characters will also be involved, with more residents drawn to Rowan and his organisation as he continues to target vulnerable people.
Toyah fallout
Toyah is set to open up on a harrowing secret she’s been keeping for decades on the soap in upcoming scenes. Spoilers have confirmed that Toyah confides in Nick Tilsley that when she was raped in 2001, she fell pregnant.
Sadly the baby was stillborn, with Toyah telling Nick that she buried her baby girl in the woods and kept the truth from her family. It’s not known yet whether the secret will be revealed to people outside of her family, and if Toyah could face trouble as a body is possibly found in upcoming scenes.
Roy Cropper exit?
Amid Lauren’s true fate not being confirmed, poor Roy has been charged with her murder. As he faces a lengthy time behind bars, he’s struggling to prove his innocence with evidence apparently stacking up against him.
If the truth does come out about Lauren, will he be freed or might he end up leaving the show? It all depends on when Corrie decides to end the storyline, and how it will wrap up.
