ITV Coronation Street villain Nathan Curtis’ attacker finally revealed after he’s left for dead
Coronation Street viewers have finally learned who attacked villain Nathan Curtis, after he was left for dead following his return to the cobbles and his sinister threats
Coronation Street fans finally discovered who was behind the attack on villain Nathan Curtis on Friday’s episode, leaving him fighting for his life.
Nathan had been warned to leave the cobbles after making a return seven years after his imprisonment for his role in a child sex grooming gang. The character had groomed Bethany Platt and attempted to sell her into sex work overseas before being apprehended by the police.
Now back on the street, Bethany is in distress, convinced that he is responsible for Lauren Bolton’s alleged murder. Her family members including mother Sarah Platt, uncle David Platt, boyfriend Daniel Osbourne, and ex-stepfather Gary Windass are furious about his return and have cautioned him to stay away.
On Wednesday, they pledged to oust him, leading to an unknown assailant attacking and injuring Nathan before escaping the scene. On Friday, the truth was revealed as Bethany discovered who assaulted Nathan, leading to a chilling threat.
David was suspected by Sarah and his partner Shona, while Bethany pointed fingers at her boyfriend Daniel. However, the real offender turned out to be Gary, leading to Bethany threatening to alert the police.
Sarah then confronted Nathan, warning him to steer clear of her daughter and exit Weatherfield. But Nathan deduced that someone close to Bethany had attacked him and proceeded to blackmail her.
She proposed to buy his silence with £2,000 and urged him to leave. But he demanded £10,000 instead, and when Bethany learned of this latest development, she ended up clashing with her mother, realising Gary helped pay him off.
Gary, on the other hand, was worried that his partner Maria would discover the truth about his actions following their recent rough patch. The couple nearly broke up after he got close to his ex Sarah again, and they’ve only just decided to give their relationship another shot.
But how will Maria respond when she learns that Gary assaulted someone and was once again there for Sarah, not to mention the money twist? It’s unclear whether this is the last we’ll see of Nathan, or if he’s actually connected to Lauren’s supposed death, which has yet to be confirmed.
