Coronation Street’s Daisy Midgeley was finally rumbled on Wednesday night, as her lies unravelled in dramatic fashion.

Her and Jenny Connor’s money theft and their betrayal towards Carla Connor finally came to light, resulting in a major downfall for Daisy. While Jenny got off a little lightly it’s fair to say, a lot of that was down to Daisy’s lack of remorse or care for what they had done.

Daisy and Jenny had got their hands on the money that killer Stephen Reid, Jenny’s ex, had nicked from Carla Connor’s factory late last year before his death. Bethany Platt, Stephen’s great-niece, realised this week that Daisy had taken the money instead of giving it back to Carla, and had used it to purchase The Rovers which was at risk of being demolished.

After Stephen’s scam, Carla was unable to get the money back from the bank as Stephen had used colleague Michael’s details to make the transfer. In the fallout, Daisy worked out where Stephen had stored the money but kept it a secret, and they lied about a loan when asked how they could afford the pub.

But the truth all came out on Wednesday evening, as Carla couldn’t shift her thoughts on Bethany being right. She believed Jenny was hiding something, and that she and Daisy were guilty.

Carla ended up getting a confession out of Jenny who was mortified over what they had done, and begged for Carla’s forgiveness. She vowed to pay back every penny, and soon Carla stormed over to the pub to confront Daisy who had also been using the money to buy expensive outfits.

Daisy showed no remorse leaving Carla angry, with her also mocking Jenny for apologising to her. As Daisy shared some nasty words it was her facing the repercussions, as Carla declared the pub was now hers given they used her money to buy it.

Her first move as boss? She sacked Daisy from the pub, and when Daisy said she couldn’t do this Carla made it very clear she was in charge. But Jenny was “hanging on by a thread” and was allowed to stay working there, as Carla told her the pub was now hers until all the money was paid back.

Daisy appeared to lose everything, starting with her job and likely her home. Her relationship with stepmother Jenny was also in tatters thanks to the truth coming out, as they both blamed each other.

But that wasn’t all, as Daisy also risked losing Ryan Connor for good just weeks on from them giving their romance a go. Carla’s nephew was disgusted with Daisy for stealing his aunt’s money and lying about it, and Daisy realised exactly what she had done as she broke down in tears.
