Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey is set to confront Emily next week as Joel Deering’s secret is exposed.
Duty solicitor Joel, played by Calum Lill, joined the cobbles last year and soon became a love interest for fellow solicitor Dee-Dee, played by Channique Sterling-Brown. Since Joel’s arrival, soap watchers have been left suspicious, speculating he could be too good to be true.
In recent scenes, Joel’s secret was teased as he was confronted by a mystery woman called Emily on the ITV soap. In a panic, Joel, who was spooked, steered Emily out, demanding they talk somewhere in private and promising he would sort out a mystery problem she was angry about.

In upcoming scenes this week, Dee-Dee is set to discover Joel’s secret after an expensive receipt falls from his wallet and Dee-Dee is confused to see it’s from a jewellers, dated from December. Later, Joel calls at the solicitors to find Dee-Dee, Adam Barlow and Alya Nazir discussing the receipt.
Joel is quick to make out he bought himself some cufflinks to which Alya jokes about his expensive taste. However, Alya is soon left suspicious when she spots Joel in a car being driven by a sullen looking woman. Things go from bad to worse later in the week when Alya prepares herself before showing Dee-Dee CCTV footage from the Bistro. A confused Dee-Dee is quick to confront Joel, where he is forced to come clean about his past.
Joel admits that he has a wife, Emily, a daughter, Maisie, and his wife threw him out when she was pregnant because he had an affair. The shock discovery leaves Dee-Dee reeling in shock and next week will see the aftermath. In episodes next week, Emily calls at the flat, where Dee-Dee grills her.
During the chat, Emily confirms that she and Joel are separated, assuring Dee-Dee that he is in fact a good man at heart and she should give things another go. Later in the week, Alya tells Dee-dee she needs a girls’ night out to take her mind off Joel. Later, Alya and Toyah do their best to cheer up Dee-Dee but she wishes she’d stayed at home. Can Dee-Dee forgive Joel and what’s next for the couple?
