ITV Coronation Street’s Joel Deering ‘rumbled’ by Dee-Dee Bailey as he makes mistake
Coronation Street is lining up explosive scenes next week as Joel Deering is 'rumbled' by fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey as he makes a big mistake amid his Lauren Bolton secret
Coronation Street is lining up explosive scenes next week as Joel Deering is ‘rumbled’ by fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey.
Viewers will recall that Lauren Bolton made a shock comeback earlier this month as Cait Fitton reprised her role. Weeks on from a brutal attack by Joel, which Weatherfield residents still don’t know about, Lauren, who was believed to be dead, was revealed to be alive as she headed to the hospital to visit Roy Cropper after he suffered a heart attack weeks on from him being wrongly imprisoned for Lauren’s ‘murder’.
And things only got more explosive when Joel confronted Lauren at the hospital, forcing her into a family room and pleading with her not to reveal what happened. As violent and evil Joel went to lash out again, Lauren protected her stomach revealing she was five months pregnant with his baby in a huge bombshell before fleeing the hospital.
Last week, Joel’s fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey and Bethany Platt managed to track down the missing teen at a squat after retracing her bank statements, where she had been fraudulently using Bethany’s old company credit card. An oblivious Dee-Dee, who is unaware that her husband-to-be is evil, let Joel know as he raced to the scene and discovered Lauren before the duo, where she fainted in his arms.

After being checked over in hospital, Joel has been hiding Lauren in an empty flat, promising to send her to Ireland in August for a fresh start with their child. However, on Friday night, Joel’s real sick plan was revealed as he was seen searching on his laptop: “What drugs can induce premature labour”.
In upcoming scenes next week, Joel finds himself in deep water when Dee-Dee spots an odd detail. In the episodes, Joel tells Dee-Dee to watch their wedding budget as his divorce to ex-wife Emily is proving costly. When Joel brings his daughter, Maeve, to spend time with Dee-Dee at the flat, Dee-Dee says he’s a born father without realising he’s about to welcome baby number two with Lauren.
Joel is left panicked when Lauren sends an urgent text about a leak at the flat and Joel is forced to take Maeve with him as Dee-Dee has to go to court. Later in the week, things go from bad to worse for the solicitor when outside the corner shop flat, Dee-Dee takes delivery of a parcel and assumes it’s a gift from Joel. However, she is left puzzled to see it’s addressed to ‘E. Smith’. Over at the police station, Joel is left troubled by a voicenote from Dee-Dee revealing she’s intercepted his delivery.
It remains to be seen how Joel talks his way out of the parcel mistake but later in the week, he promises Dee-Dee that going forward she’ll have his undivided attention. Meanwhile, Joel heads over to see Lauren, promising she’ll be moving to Ireland very soon. Later, Joel learns that Lauren has been mugged at the precinct and he feigns concern, secretly plotting to get rid of her for good.
Whilst alone, Lauren doubles over in pain, clutching her stomach. Having tracked her to the flat, best friend and ex Max Turner arrives as Lauren calls out to him, terrified she’s losing her baby. Will Lauren be okay?
