Coronation Street viewers will finally learn who killed missing teenager Lauren Bolton next week

Coronation Street viewers will finally learn who killed missing teenager Lauren Bolton next week.

Only recently, Roy Cropper has found himself arrested, charged and the number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren. Soap fans will recall that troubled youngster Lauren abruptly left the cobbles earlier this year and her friend Bobby has been left concerned after he found her flat unlocked with Lauren nowhere to be seen.

Viewers never saw Lauren leave and it seems she told no one close to her of her plan to leave Weatherfield aside from Roy. Bobby reported Lauren as missing to the police and Roy has found himself under suspicion due to his kind nature, especially after he was caught innocently cleaning Lauren’s flat, which some people thought proved he was guilty and internet sleuths have since made his life a misery with a barrage of online abuse.

Meanwhile, in recent episodes, Bethany Platt has been left horrified after she spotted former abuser Nathan Curtis in Weatherfield. Soap fans will recall that Bethany was groomed by evil Nathan before reporting him and his gang to the police. The dark storyline concluded with Bethany facing Nathan and the others in court, with him sent to prison.

Bethany has seen red over her abuser’s return and has accused Nathan, who was released months ago, of murdering missing teenager Lauren. And next week, soap watchers will finally learn who killed Lauren… in the upcoming episodes, which will air across the week over five nights in a schedule shake-up, a damning piece of evidence comes to light. Here’s a look at the week ahead…

Roy in danger

Across the week, starting on Monday 27 May, Roy is still remanded in custody, awaiting trial for Lauren’s murder, and the pressure is mounting both on the man himself and those trying to prove his innocence. Despite Roy’s loved ones convinced he is innocent, others remain suspicious over the beloved café owner. It’s not long until far-right activist and villain Griff decides to force a confession out of Roy amid his return to Weatherfield prison. Griff is out for blood and it soon becomes clear that Roy is in grave danger.

Sarah resorts to desperate measures

Meanwhile, Bethany is still convinced that Nathan is to blame for Lauren’s murder. Sarah Platt is left concerned for her daughter Bethany, who is clearly at breaking point, and the protective mother takes a bold move to try and get rid of Bethany’s sex offender ex for good. However, when Sarah is caught in the act trying to frame Nathan, will she be in trouble and could the police find evidence of their own which puts Nathan in the frame?

Shock arrest before killer reveal

Elsewhere, Carla Connor and nephew Bobby find themselves on the wrong side of the law, facing charges for perverting the course of justice after they lied to try and help Roy. In a huge twist by the end of the week, just as it looks like DS Lisa Swain and Kit are about to crack the case, the audience will be “hit with a bolt out of the blue” as a new piece of evidence reveals who Lauren’s killer really is. This begs the question, have the police got their man in Nathan or is Lauren’s real killer still at large?
