Joel’s killer faces prison as Coronation Street films shock court scenes

The net closes in on Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) killer much sooner than expected, with Coronation Street filming pictures confirm new court scenes to come.

Joel, as viewers know, vanished without a trace a number of weeks ago, with the police subsequently commencing an investigation into his disappearance, hoping to track him down.

Things, however, took an unexpected turn, with Joel’s dead body turning up in the river. The investigation thus became a murder one, with DS Swain (Vicky Myers) and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) eager to know who claimed the villain’s life.

But with daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) having been targeted by Joel, Lisa was kicked off the investigation, with Kit subsequently taking charge – and he’s even questioned Lisa on her whereabouts on the evening of the murder.

And with Joel having made many lives a living hell during his stay on the cobbles, it’s safe to say that there is no shortage of suspects.

Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) reckons she killed Joel, while Lisa, Ronnie (Vinta Morgan) and Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) are all hiding something about the night Joel died.

Even Kit himself is in the frame!

Next week, the truth is revealed about who killed Joel and it seems as though the person in question will soon have to face court for their crime, with new filming pictures confirming a big on-location shoot.

Cast members of the ITV soap were spotted filming in Bolton, with David Neilson, Paddy Bever, Jack Carroll and Mollie Gallagher – who play Roy Cropper, Max Turner, Bobby Crawford and Nina Lucas respectively – all pictured during the shoot.

Roy, as fans will recall, spent a number of months behind bars earlier this year when he was framed for the ‘murder’ of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

Joel was to blame for Lauren’s disappearance but a shock twist confirmed that the character wasn’t actually dead as she returned to screens after a few months of mystery, giving birth to Joel’s baby.

But with Joel having antagonised used just about everyone he crossed paths with in the months since, the question is: who killed him? And what’s more, will said person face prison time over what has transpired?

It’s going to be a winter to remember on the Street, that’s for sure.
