Leanne unnerved by Rowan in Coronation Street as she finally sees him for who he really is

Sam, Nick and Leanne approach Rowan on the cobbles in Corrie

A tense week lies ahead in Coronation Street as the wool is slowly removed from Leanne Battersby’s (Jane Danson) eyes.

Leanne has been a member of The Institute – a cult – for a lot of this year. As a result of Rowan’s (Emryhs Cooper) manipulation, Leanne failed to see the organisation as corrupt, but something in her started to change when Toyah (Georgia Taylor) went into hospital.

During Toyah’s operation, Leanne received a call from Nick (Ben Price) which concerned her greatly. She raced to the hospital and sat with her sister, telling Nick that she was so sorry for not being there enough.

Amid all of this, Rowan is also doing his best to lure Amy (Elle Mulvaney) into staying with the group. In upcoming episodes, Leanne seeks out Rowan who explains that Amy is doing an upload today and reconsidering investing in the resource centre.

At Amy’s upload, Leanne urges her to relieve her trauma in order to banish the negativity. As Amy unburdens herself, Leanne is taken aback when she realises Rowan is recording the whole thing.

In the week, Leanne joins Amy ready to support her for her first malware session. A blindfolded Amy is horrified as the members bombard her with insults. Eventually, she becomes far too distressed and runs out.

Once Tracy (Kate Ford) discovers what Amy has been through, she insists on taking the story to the Gazette.

Urging Leanne to persuade Amy to call off the attack, Rowan points out that now she’s senior management, her loyalty to the business is more important than her relationship with Amy.

It leaves Leanne feeling troubled and torn – what will she do next?

Is this the moment she finally stands up to Rowan and has the group destroyed?
