Major Coronation Street character framed for Joel’s murder due to planted weapon
A major Coronation Street character looks set to be framed for Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) murder in upcoming scenes when shocking new evidence is uncovered.
Joel was killed at the end of September, and so far the investigation into his murder has yielded few results.
However, things change in upcoming scenes DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) gets quite the shock when Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) confesses to the crime.
She admits that she hit Joel with a crowbar in self-defence on the night that he died, but swears that he was still alive when she left.
As Kit processes Dee-Dee’s confession, he is met with another shocking piece of evidence that could turn the whole case on its head.
Meanwhile, things are looking sketchy for DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) as she makes a horrifying realisation.
The detective sergeant has already been accused of murder by her daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), but the situation is set to get even more worrying when she begins to suspect that someone is trying to frame her for Joel’s death.
Lisa is quick to confide in Carla Connor (Alison King), revealing that her issue CS spray was planted near the murder weapon.
She reveals that she believes the murderer themself put it there in a bid to set her up, and soon begins to retrace her steps in the hopes of working out who stole it from her.
Will it lead her to the killer, or is she simply trying to cover her own tracks?
At the end of the week, a special episode will feature a series of flashbacks interspersed with Kit’s interviews of the suspects, with viewers finally learning who really killed Joel.
