There may be a split ahead for a major couple in upcoming Coronation Street scenes when one party remains close to their ex.
Next week gets off to a bad start for Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) when she spots boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) cuddling with his ex-girlfriend Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
Daniel and Daisy were due to get married in 2023, but their wedding day was ruined by an acid attack from Daisy’s stalker, Justin.
In the aftermath, Daniel and Daisy’s relationship crumbled as Daisy grew close to Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), who took the brunt of the attack after pushing Daisy out of the way.
To make matters worse for Bethany, Daniel has already encouraged Bethany to accept a press trip to Istanbul, where she has been asked to do a write-up on a cosmetic surgery clinic there.
It isn’t just Bethany feeling pushed out however, as Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) is keen to spend some time with girlfriend Daisy, who is otherwise occupied.
When she breaks the news that she is babysitting Daniel’s son Bertie while Daniel takes Bethany to the airport, Ryan is gutted.
The next day, Ryan comes up with a genius plan for them to spend more time with each other: Moving in together.
However, when he broaches the topic with Daisy, she remains non-committal, leaving him rattled.
Feeling upset and pushed aside, Ryan snaps, insisting that it is obvious that Daisy is still in love with Daniel.
Is he right? And could this be the end of their relationship?
