Since Mason – the schoolboy who bullied Liam – has been sent to a youth detention centre, Maria has been keeping a close eye on her son, even installing a secret camera which she can watch from her phone to check he’s OK.

But husband Gary had no idea about the camera until recently, after ex Sarah Platt made a drunken pass at him after he invited her back to the flat to discuss her relationship woes.

Gary was left completely panicked after learning about the existence of the hidden camera and the compromised position he was in, before promising Sarah he’d delete it before Maria got to see it.

While the pair managed to evade discovery, in upcoming Coronation Street scenes,  Gary watches Sarah with concern as she knocks back the wine in the Rovers.

When he spots her heading home with another bottle, he goes over.

Later, Maria returns home to find Sarah and Gary looking shifty.

She picks up some things and surreptitiously places a camera on the side.

As Gary sees Sarah out, they hug and agree to keep their distance from now on.

Maria watches them on her phone and her face darkens, before confronting her husband.

Gary tries to explain himself and hopes for a reconciliation, but Maria makes it clear that’s not on the cards, leaving Gary gutted.

Is there anything he can do to get his wife to come round and give their marriage another go?

It isn’t the only problem Maria has this week, as Liam has been hiding his anxiety from his mother so that she doesn’t worry about him.

But in upcoming scenes, he finds Paul Foreman’s Benzo pills in a cupboard at their flat while trying to have a film night with Joseph, and puts them in his pocket.

Liam returns home to find Gary not back, as he’s gone to see to Sarah.

Maria walks in and notices the pair acting shifty

Feeling a panic attack coming on, he takes out Paul’s Benzo pills.

Meanwhile Billy discovers the missing pills and when Joseph reveals that Liam was looking for sweets, Billy panics.

Alone in the flat, Liam lies unconscious, the pill bottle next to him.
