Mystery as Chesney Brown is stalked in knife horror in Coronation Street
CHESNEY Brown is to find himself at the centre of a stalking mystery in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
The character – played by Sam Aston – has been a regular on the ITV soap since 2003.
In scenes yet to air, Chesney is furious as he discovers someone has slashed his car tyres.
Confiding in sister Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) about the man with the van, Chesney is certain he’s the one behind it.
He later spots the same van again, parked outside the house.
However, the vehicle speeds off before Chesney can get a closer look at it.
It comes as Corrie fans were gobsmacked last month after discovering Sam Aston’s other link to the soap.
While he has played Chesney for over 20 years, Sam was not the first member of his family to grace the cobbles.
Between 1996 and 1997, his sister Emily Aston appeared in a total of 51 episodes.
She played the role of Becky Palmer and later worked on Hollyoaks, This is England ’88 and Doctors.
Additionally, their brother Joseph appeared as young Tommy Duckworth in 2000.
As fans may recall, the character was grandson to Jack (Bill Tarmey) and Vera (Liz Dawn).
Tommy was later recast to former Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain in 2011.
As for Sam, he is a family man in real life much like Corrie counterpart Chesney.
Married to Briony Gardner since 2019, the pair share three children.
In the coming months, the actor is set to temporarily swap Weatherfield for Dancing on Ice.
Partnered with pro skater Molly Lanaghan, Sam will be appearing in series 17, beginning in January 2025.
Speaking on This Morning, Sam previously said: “They basically stand you on the ice. But I got a real buzz experiencing it a little bit.
“My son is pretty excited about it, he’s only young but when I told him he said, ‘can I come, can I come?’ He’s only four!”
He added: “It’s nice for the public to see me as me and not Chesney!”
