This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.

David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) worst nightmare came true in recent Coronation Street scenes, as Max Turner (Paddy Bever) finally handed himself into the police.

Max had been responsible for the fire at No.8, and planned to go on the run, though the idea clearly made him uncomfortable.

During an emotional chat with Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), Max admitted that he wasn’t sure how he’d cope on the run, and Shona was quick to point out that it wasn’t his only option.

‘You have a choice, whether to run or whether to stay. It’s up to you,’ she told him.

In the end, Max decided that the best thing to do was to hand himself in, especially after Shona told him that Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) was lending David the money to pay off Harvey Gaskell.

When it came time to get Max to the ferry port, David was horrified to find that he was gone, and he and Shona raced to the police station, where they found out what he’d done.

With Max having admitted to DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) that he had started the fire, he looks set to spend a long time behind bars – though he may not be as safe as he first thought.

After returning home, still reeling from Max’s decision and Shona’s involvement in it, David was horrified to receive a text from none other than Harvey himself.

It was clear that word had gotten back to him about Max’s situation, and he warned David that he better pay up soon if he wanted to keep him safe.

Viewers will know that Harvey is capable of dangerous things, having had his associates kidnap Shona, fire an airgun through the Platt’s window and run over David the Dog.

Not to mention the fact that he is in prison for murdering Natasha Blakeman.

Will the money from Nick be enough to cover David’s debts, or is Max set to become another one of Harvey’s victims?
