Sean Wilson’s new job revealed after unexpected Coronation Street axe
Sean Wilson’s new job has been revealed following his sudden and unexpected exit from Coronation Street.
It was revealed earlier this year that Sean was set to return to the soap as Martin Platt, to tie in with Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) exit storyline.
The scenes were set to play out over the autumn but in August, it was reported that the actor had ‘stepped down for personal reasons’.
Following this news, Sean’s next job has been confirmed.
He is going on tour for a stage show with TV chef and former I’m A Celeb star Rosemary Shrager.
Away from his life as an actor, Sean also runs a cheese company. It’s this side of his career that ties in with his and Rosemary’s collaboration, as the show will focus on food.
The teaser for the show, which is called Posh Teas and Artisan Cheese, says: ‘The first half of their show will consist of chat and an audience Q&A, taking questions from the audience, while the second half will be a cook-off, in which the two chalk-and-cheese experts will showcase their succulent skills, with mouth-watering recipes and hot tips that the audience can try at home.’
The production begins in February and will travel around the UK.
In Coronation Street, Sean’s replacement came in the form of John Thomson, who reprised his role as Jesse Chadwick.
The Platt family were incredibly surprised to see Jesse back on the cobbles. Fortunately though, they are slowly coming to accept Jesse, knowing how happy he is making their mum.
Next week, with the money from the sale of Jesse’s house on the cards, Gail wonders what they should do with it.
With Gail set to exit in upcoming scenes, will she decide to leave Weatherfield in her rearview mirror for a new life elsewhere?
