A new Coronation Street spoiler video has revealed the moment Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) is targeted by Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) brothers.
The lads are actually looking for her grandson David Platt (Jack P Shepherd)!
Viewers of the ITV soap have seen David conceal Damon Hay’s (Ciaran Griffiths) secret stash of money that he stole earlier in the year.
The cash was intended to be used for Bethany Platt’s (Lucy Fallon) recovery following botched surgery in Turkey, with Damon offering it to her mum Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).
The sum had actually come about after committing a robbery for his gangster brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) earlier in the year.
David discovered where it was hidden and planned to use it to buy his family home.
His mum Gail intends to use the money from the house sale, and from fiancé Jesse Chadwick’s (John Thomson) divorce to purchase a villa in the south of France.
Of course this plot is all part and parcel of actress Helen Worth’s leaving storyline after treading the cobbles for a whopping 50 years.
As they sat the family down to discuss their move, youngster Harry (Carter-J Murphy) emerged from David’s bedroom clutching a handful of £20 notes.
Jesse was well aware of where the jackpot had come from, and leapt to David’s defence, noting that he’d squirrelled it away to buy his wife Shona (Julia Goulding) a flashy Christmas present.
Now, thuggish Matty (Séamus McGoff) and Logan Radcliffe (Harry Lowbridge) have discovered that he’s taken it, and want to claim it back.
The lads explain they’re ‘friends’ of David, and she wrongly assumes that they are his former students from barbering school.
As the spoiler video shows, she wanders into the back room to pop the kettle on, and they slide the lock closed on the door.
