Soap plots ‘exposed’: Manpreet’s blackmailer, Tommy’s friend and Dylan’s true identity
Fans of Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street often figure out key storylines before they are announced or even air.
But sometimes the theories on what’s ahead can be a little extreme, while entertaining. Nothing can ever be ruled out though as this is soap land, and often we have learned to expect the unexpected.
Just this week alone there’s been secrets brewing and twists teased. Plenty of theories have taken over amid all three big soaps airing a number of hints about what’s coming next for some of their big characters.
Manpreet Sharma, Joe Tate and newcomer Dylan continue to spark huge theories for Emmerdale fans, while over on Corrie it’s Rob Donovan and new character Mick sparking suspicions. As for EastEnders, fans are not quite convinced over some bombshells concerning Tommy Moon and missing Shireen.
Some fans are sure they have cracked the case about the conclusion to said characters’ storylines. Here are the biggest theories about the twists ahead after this week’s dramatic soap episodes…

Emmerdale
Manpreet blackmailer exposed
Emmerdale has the most theories of any soap circulating around this week, and one such theory is linked to Manpreet who is being blackmailed. Her secret was recently revealed on the soap, with her telling Ella Forster she’d been posting empowering images of herself online before moving over to a subscription website.
Just this week she began receiving threats and nasty messages from someone who had obtained the racy content, preparing to issue a demand. Spoilers revealed it would be money she is told she needs to pay up unless she wants her images shared with her colleagues and neigbours.
But who would target Manpreet and why? Fans are convinced Ella is behind it and faking her support to her friend, while others think her killer sister Meena Jutla is back and taunting her.
Other suspects include Tracy Robinson, who’s desperate for cash, Billy Fletcher, who has seen the content online, and Joe Tate. Other possibilities according to fans are John Sugden and Jai Sharma.
Joe Tate’s illness
Spoilers for next week have revealed we finally find out what is wrong with Joe Tate and what his health issue is. We will be shown the contents of his mystery black case, and will also uncover his secret plan with Dr Crowley for once and for all.
Viewers have a few days to wait for the big reveal, but it’s not stopped them speculating they have worked it all out. Fans are convinced Joe is seriously ill and possibly dying, and maybe he needs an organ transplant to survive. So is Joe targeting villagers to find a donor?
Steph’s next move
Dramatic scenes this week saw Steph Miligan finally learn the horrifying truth about her grandfather Anthony Fox, and his murder. Her mother Ruby Miligan told her how she was raped by her father Anthony as a teenager, and that this led to her falling pregnant with Steph.
Fans are now wondering what will happen in the fallout as she struggles to cope with the truth. With upcoming scenes seeing her take action and forming a plan, some fans have wondered if it will be her who lands her father Caleb Miligan in hospital, after he was shown flatlining in a flashforward clip.

‘Killer John’s next target’
John Sugden has gone a little quiet ever since he revealed where he’d buried Anthony’s body in a recent episode, after Ruby killed him. John featured in tense scenes with boyfriend Aaron Dingle feeling betrayed after Aaron and his mother Chas Dingle plotted behind his back.
Amid John fearing Chas doesn’t like him, some fans are still convinced he is the person who killed Nate Robinson whose body was shown at the bottom of a lake last month. Now they’re predicting his next victim after spoilers teased Jai Sharma would get closer to the truth about Anthony’s disappearance – so will John silence him?
Dylan’s ‘real identity’
Viewers are convinced April Windsor’s new pal Dylan is linked to the Dingles. This week he overdosed after being set up by April’s father Marlon Dingle.
Feeling bad, Marlon paid for Dylan to go to rehab and Dylan appeared to exit the show amid calls for him to stay. Around this, fans are sure it will turn out that Dylan is actually a Dingle and could be the secret son of Marlon’s brother Eli Dingle or even his cousin Tina Dingle who made a recent comeback.
EastEnders
Shireen’s real killer
Just this week the soap revisited the storyline about Harry Mitchell’s missing ex-girlfriend Shireen, with spoilers for next week confirming there’s an update. But it was an episode this week that saw Harry’s mother Nicola Mitchell shockingly claim that his dad Teddy Mitchell killed Shireen.
Until this point Harry had been accused but no real confirmation had been shared over what really happened. There’s new accusations next week, but some fans are convinced Teddy is not the real killer and that Nicola could be hiding who really did it.
This week we saw fans finally learn who Tommy Moon had been speaking to online
This week we saw fans finally learn who Tommy Moon had been speaking to online after days of confusing scenes. Tommy has been very eager to speak to his new online pal Matt, and he had quite the outburst when his mum Kat Slater got rid of his console.
This week he’s continued to talk to Matt leaving his parents worried who it could be. Things reached a big reveal though when they demanded Tommy confirm the identity of Matt, and he did.
He claimed it was an AI tool and not a real person he was talking to, hence why he had not met them and they had not been to the house. But as Tommy faced taunts over speaking to computer, some fans believed there was more to the storyline.
Viewers think Tommy might be lying about Matt’s real identity, and that Matt is not an AI tool and is a person. Is Tommy being manipulated by a predator online, or could he be being groomed by a person or group? Might it be a past character?
Coronation Street
Mick’s shock past
Something that left fans very uncomfortable this week was newcomer Mick’s gross behaviour towards Daisy Midgeley. Amid fans being convinced he’s hiding something dark, this week he got a bit too close to Daisy leaving her terrified.
After a grieving Daisy invited Mick to the back of the pub for drinks, trying to drown out her heartache after she suffered a miscarriage resulting in a brief split from Daniel Osbourne, Mick got the wrong impression. As he tried it on with her and suggested they have some “fun” Daisy told him it was time for him to leave but he refused.
He became aggressive and claimed she had led him on only for Daniel to walk in and see what was going on. Fans are convinced Mick is a creep who has preyed on women before, and that he might be hiding a sinister past.
How will Rob Donovan leave Corrie?
Rob is set to be caught up in a siege in upcoming scenes, while spoilers for next week have revealed he’s plotting his big escape. He even asks ex Tracy Barlow to flee with him, after getting her to help him remain on the run.
But given he is only back for a stint, fans are already speculating how he might exit the soap soon. Fans are fearing he will trigger a deadly showdown and that he could cause the death of another character, while other fans are convinced he himself will be killed off.
