The sad reason Gemma in Coronation Street wants to ban Joseph from dream trip

Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) has lost her twin Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) in Coronation Street and understandably, adjusting to life on her own is a struggle.

Paul died at the start of September following a diagnosis of motor neurone disease. In the aftermath, Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove), Gemma and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) clashed multiple times whenever the topic of funeral arrangements was approached.

In the end, they reached a compromise. At the start of last week, the Weatherfield residents gathered in a church to watch Billy lead a traditional funeral.

A few days later, they arrived outside on the cobbles to take part in a rave, sending Paul off with music, laughter and a lot of fun.

For the Winter/Brown family, they have no choice but to continue living their lives without Paul in it. Coming up, Gemma tells Chesney (Sam Aston) that she doesn’t want Joseph (William Flanagan) to go on the school skiing trip.

Very quickly, Ches realises Gemma is only saying this because she’s worried about Joseph’s safety after losing Paul.

Not wanting to cause Gemma any stress, Joseph tells his dad that he won’t go on the trip, but can Chesney convince him otherwise?

Towards the end of the week, Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) wonders if Gemma would like to return to work, but Chesney says it’s too soon.

But what will Gemma think?

And what will happen if she returns to work, but isn’t completely ready?
